My Favorite Children's Book

My favorite singer is the beautiful JJ Heller. I first heard of her music when I was a sophomore in High School and I immediately loved her. The summer going into my junior year, I actually had the pleasure of meeting her at YoungLife camp- go figure! 'Boat Song' is such a fun song she wrote about a mother's love for her baby and the heartache a mommy feels as she continues, day after day, to persue her baby.  She wrote this song based off a book she read called 'Runaway Bunny' and after hearing about this, I just had to read the book! Let's just say the book had me in tears! A mama bunny describes how she will never stop persuing her baby bunny no matter how many times he may run away. It's a beautiful picture of a mother's steadfast love for her little bunny. I recommend reading this book to your little one(s) and hopefully someday they will read it back to you!
What's your favorite book?

Check out the adorable and homemade music video JJ Heller and her husband made for Boat Song!

If you are interested in reading the book at some point here is what the cover looks like

Dear Gracelyn,

Sweet baby, you're two! My, how time has just flown by. Here we are on your second birthday and I am more in love with you now then ever before. You are so independent, so strong willed, brave and energetic. You get all of that from daddy. We are so proud of the little girl you have become and we can't wait to watch you grow up to be so much more. I am so blessed by you, Gracelyn. You have made me a better person all around.  I can't even remember what I used to do for fun. How many hours did I waste watching TV? Everything is much more fun with you around. I am reliving my childhood through your eyes and I have to say- it's one of the greatest experiences ever. One of my absolute favorite things about you is how you try not to smile and your lips press together as you try to hold back. Oh my goodness, EXACTLY like your dad. People say you either look just like him or a mix of both of us. Either way, you are the most beautiful little soul I have ever known. You...

9 months!

36 Weeks Here is my 9 month bare belly! Decided to scare you guys in honor of being 36 weeks!! Yay!! Jk, I actually feel super good and slowly getting very anxious for her to come. I am even excited for labor! I know I was created for this very thing and feel extremely confident that God will be in the center of it all. Total Weight Gain:   So I went to the doctor on Tuesday and I gained 2 more pounds putting me at 18 pounds gained! I’m 148 lbs!!!  Maternity Clothes?   Nothing new! Stretch Marks? Well, a sad day has fallen upon us…haha! I discovered a few stretch marks under my belly button the other day. It was a bit of a shock because they literally snuck up on me! I showed David and at first he said they were creases from my jeans but I don’t think so. Then he smiled, hugged me, kissed my forehead and said, “…and each one is a different reason of why I love you.” Can you think of a better response??? I can’t. Fruit/Veggie Size?  C...

The meaning of Gracelyn Elida.

When you chose your child’s name, did it have a meaning or did you pick it just because you liked it?             When David and I were talking about names, we were lost! Neither of us knew where to start nor had any picked out before. I always liked the name Christopher. It’s my dad’s name, my brother’s name, my nephew’s middle name and it’s also David’s middle name. It’s a family name and I knew I would pass this name to my child, had it been a boy. We also loved the name Daniel. It’s a strong name for a baby boy, young guy, and an older man. Can you picture a sweet baby named Bill or Ted? Maybe you can, but I sure can’t! Daniel is also a strong biblical character. He was a man of faith! He endured being in the lion’s den and was not harmed because he was brave and faithful.  The name Christopher has the word CHRIST in it. I believe the name Christopher comes from the word Christian, so after all of this the n...
