My Favorite Children's Book

My favorite singer is the beautiful JJ Heller. I first heard of her music when I was a sophomore in High School and I immediately loved her. The summer going into my junior year, I actually had the pleasure of meeting her at YoungLife camp- go figure! 'Boat Song' is such a fun song she wrote about a mother's love for her baby and the heartache a mommy feels as she continues, day after day, to persue her baby.  She wrote this song based off a book she read called 'Runaway Bunny' and after hearing about this, I just had to read the book! Let's just say the book had me in tears! A mama bunny describes how she will never stop persuing her baby bunny no matter how many times he may run away. It's a beautiful picture of a mother's steadfast love for her little bunny. I recommend reading this book to your little one(s) and hopefully someday they will read it back to you! What's your favorite book? Check out the adorable and homemade music video JJ Hell...

Eating:   Gracelyn is an excellent eater now! I am finally able to feed her without wanting to cry- raw nipples are NO joke! One night I was literally crying along with Gracelyn because I had a clogged duct but I knew I had to nurse her through the pain. What blessed me so much was watching her eat not knowing the discomfort I was going through. The momentary discomfort could never compare to the life long benefits of breast milk. Needless to say, I love breast feeding now! She will also take a bottle of pumped breast milk but we are still searching for a bottle that wont leak! I have tried everything from the cheapest bottle to a $20 bottle. We will find one that works sooner or later. Yes, I make sure to buy slow flow but they still leak :) Sleeping: Luckily, we have a pretty great sleeper! Gracelyn has been giving us a good 5-6 hour stretch (roughly 10pm-4am) almost every night! Mom & Dad are so proud. :-) The best part is that the long stretch of sleep has been in ...

Favorites: Pregnancy

***I was planning to post this about a week or so before my due date but of course, Gracelyn came much quicker than expected! I follow other “mom blogs” and found this collage of favorite things to be a common occurrence in blogger world! :) I thought it was such a fun idea and I enjoyed reading them so I decided to make my very own. Here are some of the things I used while pregnant that made the ride smoother and more enjoyable! Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Tummy Rub for Stretch Marks: I really love this stuff- It’s oily and thick at first but once it’s absorbed, it feels good! I also recommend the lotion from palmer’s as well! Definitely worth a try if you would like to have a stretch mark free tummy! I have a few stretch marks near my bellybutton so I can’t say it completely saved me from stretch marks but it definitely felt soooo good when my tummy was itching! The tummy rub and lotion are both about $6 and you can find them at Wal-mart, Target or somewhere like that :) ...

1 Week Old Gracelyn Elida Wuerfel February 2, 2013 4:27 PM 7 lbs. 5 oz. 20.5 inches Normally I would update you on the pregnancy but now I will be doing updates on my sweet, simple, and small girl. ;) and other baby related posts! If you are one of the ones who have followed my blog from the start then I thank you! It really means a lot and makes me happy that I am able to share my life with you and completely indulge in my perfect blessing. Here’s our 1 week update!   Eating:   Breastfeeding has been going great for Gracelyn and I but it wasn’t easy! With the help of my AWESOME lactation consultant, we have really gotten the hang of it- I’m absolutely loving it. Having said that, I really give all the honor and glory to God. When I was pregnant I wanted to breastfeed more than anything and I was always worried “it just wouldn’t work.” I prayed every day that I’d be able to breastfeed with no major problems. While in the hospital, she wasn’t eating ever...

36 Weeks Here is my 9 month bare belly! Decided to scare you guys in honor of being 36 weeks!! Yay!! Jk, I actually feel super good and slowly getting very anxious for her to come. I am even excited for labor! I know I was created for this very thing and feel extremely confident that God will be in the center of it all. Total Weight Gain:   So I went to the doctor on Tuesday and I gained 2 more pounds putting me at 18 pounds gained! I’m 148 lbs!!!  Maternity Clothes?   Nothing new! Stretch Marks? Well, a sad day has fallen upon us…haha! I discovered a few stretch marks under my belly button the other day. It was a bit of a shock because they literally snuck up on me! I showed David and at first he said they were creases from my jeans but I don’t think so. Then he smiled, hugged me, kissed my forehead and said, “…and each one is a different reason of why I love you.” Can you think of a better response??? I can’t. Fruit/Veggie Size?  C...

So  I arrived j...

Baby Shower!

This past weekend was my baby shower and it was such a fun day! I am so thankful for my mom who made this happen. The food and decoration was perfect and I loved being able to spend the evening with so many amazing people who I love but more importantly love the baby! This little girl got so many awesome gifts and is going to be completely adorable in all her outfits. I can’t say thanks enough to everyone who has been with us since the start. This journey hasn’t been easy but it has blessed me in so many ways and made me a better and stronger person.  I had a blast at my baby shower and want to thank everyone who came to celebrate! :) I wish I could have taken more pictures with people but it was just too hectic! I will always remember this day and cannot wait to officially introduce her to you all very soon! THANKS from the bottom of my heart!
